Wow — crazy that we’ve almost completed week four of quarantine here in Ohio! While we are certainly missing our family outings due to this mandatory “stay-at-home” order, we’re doing everything possible to stay connected to our favorite Columbus restaurants. I’ll admit – we miss getting out, we miss people, we miss so many things about our old lives, but we’re so thankful that we can still enjoy meals from some of our favorite spots.

Our latest take-out experience (and one of our favorites!) was at Natalie’s Coal-Fired Pizza in Worthington — a great place for pizza and live music under normal circumstances, but definitely a win for takeout as well. I won’t lie – we missed the buzz of other patrons enjoying their night out and the fun, edgy vibe of the restaurant so I definitely recommend heading there when they open back up. However, after a long day of teaching/arguing with two children while working our typical day jobs at home, my husband and I were loving every minute of our ‘pretend-like-we-are-living-a-normal-life-again’ dinner.

We started out with the Pear Salad which was a mix of pear slices, baby greens, pecans, goat cheese, roasted red peppers and topped with rosemary balsamic vinaigrette. It was the perfect light and refreshing start to our meal.

We (mainly my husband) then enjoyed the Coal-Fired Wings which were outstanding. They were coated in roasted poblano buffalo sauce and served with brussel sprout slaw and blue cheese dip. Delicious.

And of course, the pizza. There are almost too many mouth-watering varieties on the menu to choose just one, but we went with the Greenwich Village — which included Italian sausage, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, mozzarella and fresh garlic. Friends, this was so good. Like really, really good. Highly recommend.

They also have some basic pizza option for the kiddos, like the Margherita or you can create your own choosing from a variety of different toppings!

Finally, no carry-out order is complete without dessert so we enjoyed a piece of their seasonal pie. I’m not even sure what it was called, but it was a delicious combination of pecans, bourbon and chocolate (we added the vanilla ice cream) — yum!

Bonus – we were also able to pick up a bottle of wine and a six pack of assorted beer because no meal is complete these days without a beverage on the side.

Another amazing perk of ordering from Natalie’s that is worth noting — we were given a $10 gift card as a thank you for spending over $50 – how awesome is that?! We can’t wait to use it towards our next order!

Also, be sure to check out The Light of the Seven Matchsticks (same owners) which normally operates as a speakeasy located underneath Natalie’s. They are offering a pretty awesome to-go menu as well!
