When learning about the official mandate to ‘stay home’ in March, did anyone else go into a straight panic after taking inventory of their current wine supply? I’ll admit that yes, there are many more important things that having a sufficient supply of reds, whites and some bubbly. But let’s be honest, working from home with a two and five-year-old (while trying to teach them letters, numbers, etc.) without any interaction with friends and family — and getting a daily dose of the evening news — made wine a necessity in our house.
Therefore, I cannot tell you how happy I was to discover this amazing gem in Westerville, Meza Wine Shop. While I never had the chance to check it out prior to the pandemic (I assure you that it’s on my list now), I was simply amazed at the awesomeness of this place. You can literally go to their website, browse their store and pick out wine that will be delivered to you anywhere in the greater Columbus area at no charge (when spending over $50).
And this is not an ‘order and wait two weeks’ type of delivery. If you order by 11am, your wine will be on your doorstep that day. If you order after 11am, you’ll just have to wait until the next day.
You can choose your own assortment or you can go with their pre-packaged selections which include fun mixes like Rose All Day, Bubbles for Brunch, Italian Wine Country to name a few. There is something for everyone!
We’ve enjoyed the Lush Full Bodied Red Six Pack ($75)…
As well as the Rose All Day Six Pack ($75)…
It’s so fun to try wines that you might not purchase otherwise — we’ve found a lot of new favorites!
And what’s wine without some cheese? While I haven’t had the chance to try one yet, you can also add on a local cheese board which includes fresh cheddar curds, soft chevre, candied pecans, local jam and a baguette. Or the burrata & pesto board sounds heavenly — burrata cheese, pesto, castalvatrano olives, roasted red tomatoes and baguette crisps.
I know that we have many orders in our future (and we’re crossing our fingers that we will finally be able to visit the shop in the near future)! Thank you Meza for providing a much needed pick-me-up during this crazy, crazy time.
